Small-signal modeling of wind farm with direct-drive PMSG using the component connection method

In order to analysis the small signal stability of direct-drive permanent magnetic synchronous generator (PMSG) based wind farm, this paper makes a model windfarm including detailed PMSG adopting component connection method (CCM). process, system, consist turbine units with PMSG, collection cable, feeder, transmission cable and grid side, is divided into several subsystems. The interconnection between different subsystems represented by linear algebra matrix. Then, through integrating each block matrix, state space matrix farm can be easier built. Based on model, eigenvalue trajectory applied control parameters turbines achieve better dynamic performance system. A simulation MATLAB/SIMULINK two (WT) presented as test system validate effectiveness CCM.
